Volunteer internships
We have volunteering opportunities available at our bright and colorful Head Office in London where you will be working alongside our small and friendly team. Jeans for Genes’ internships are designed to provide work experience and an in-depth understanding of Jeans for Genes and the work that we do. The placements are suitable for current students, recent graduates or those who are returning to the workforce and would like to update their skills and knowledge.
Internship: Research & Telephone Marketing Executive
Time commitment: Minimum 3 days per week for 6 weeks (from June -Sept)
Start date: July 2012
Location: Paddington Station, London
The placement: Jeans for Genes is a small charity and we pride ourselves on being able to offer a personal, friendly service to our supporters. Understanding our supporters is crucial for a fundraising campaign which raises the majority of its income on just one day. These internships would run through July - September 2012 and would involve:
- Carrying out telephone research to a brief set by the Head of Marketing
- Calling our existing supporter base to encourage them to take part in the Day
- Accurately recording the responses
- Reading and recording information on our database (training will be provided)
- Assisting with events and trade shows
- Conducting ad hoc promotional and marketing tasks
Skills & knowledge required:
- Confident and clear telephone manner
- Out-going and sociable
- Good level of general IT skills (Excel, Email, Internet, Word)
Conditions: This internship is voluntary and therefore an unpaid position but travel within London and lunch expenses will be paid.
