Eleri challenges Dad to a computer game
Seven year old Eleri's new wheelchair has given her freedom.
She has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a genetic disorder that affects the nerve cells in her spine so she can't use her muscles and they waste away or atrophy.
The Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children asked for our help in funding a snapdragon wheelchair for Eleri.
The chair allows her to reach every level, from the bottom kitchen cupboard to the bathroom sink.
It also has a standing frame so that she can chat to people face to face.
"The chair has given Eleri independence," says her mum, Kerry. "It's made a big difference to us as a family, too. We have to do far less for her now as she can do so much more for herself."
"Eleri is almost not disabled with her new wheelchair. It's given her a whole new world."Michael, Eleri's dad
Eleri can now reach the dog biscuits to give her dog a treat and she feels more included at school.
The chair is so adjustable that she can sit with the other children in story circle time.
Two other young girls with neuromuscular conditions received new wheelchairs through the Newlife Foundation, thanks to the money you raised.
